Disability Inclusion

Disability Inclusion

Every Child Matters. Every Ability Counts.

At Beacon of Hope Community Initiative (BOHCI), we believe that disability should never be a barrier to dignity, opportunity, or a full life. Every child has value, potential, and purpose.

In Zambia, many children with disabilities face stigma, exclusion, and limited access to education and healthcare. BOHCI works to change this by promoting inclusion, protection, and equal opportunity for every child.

We support children with disabilities through: Providing mobility aids and assistive devices Supporting access to inclusive education Linking families to medical and rehabilitation services Strengthening families and caregivers Raising community awareness and fighting stigma

Why It Matters

Children with disabilities are often hidden, excluded, or left behind. At BOHCI, we believe inclusion is justice, not charity. When children are supported, they gain confidence, independence, and hope for the future.

Our Vision

We envision communities where children with disabilities are valued, included, and given equal opportunities to thrive.

Every Child Belongs

In many of our communities in Zambia, children with disabilities are still hidden at home, laughed at, or left behind. Some are told they cannot go to school. Some are seen as a burden. But at BOHCI, we know the truth: every child is a blessing and every child has a future.

Disability is not a curse. It is not shame. It is not the end of life.

With the right support, a child who cannot walk can go to school. A child who struggles to learn can still succeed. A family that feels alone can find hope again.

At Beacon of Hope Community Initiative (BOHCI), we walk with families, support children with disabilities, and teach communities to choose love over stigma and inclusion over rejection. We provide mobility aids, link families to health services, support school access, and speak out for the rights of children who are often forgotten.

When we include a child with a disability, we do not just change that child’s life, we change the heart of the whole community.

A community is not strong when only the strong are supported.

A community is strong when everyone belongs.

Join us in building a Zambia where no child is hidden, no child is rejected, and no child is left behind.
